I've been a Paint Shop Pro user since 1996, but unfortunately, the latest version of PSP (version 12, Ultimate) has really become troublesome and crashes routinely during new images and/or edits. Multiple emails to Corel has failed to create a workable solution or resolve the issue, so this has pushed me into using Photoshop and GIMP more. Particularly GIMP, because there seems to be a revolution of sorts going on with the creation of plugins and scripts, many of which are not in the PSP arsenal. There are trade-offs with both programs, so, although GIMP is free, it doesn't necessarily give it an edge over Paint Shop Pro, graphics wise.
Having said all that, my point is: now that I have been using GIMP more, I have come to like it, more. Hopefully, the program will come into it's own "user friendliness" in the near future. I would love to learn more about writing scripts, as well.
If anyone has questions about GIMP or it's use, I'll be glad to help in anyway I can. There are enormous amounts of GIMP guides and tutorials online that did not exist 2 short years ago. So it has come a long way in a short amount of time.
Any GIMP users on this forum?
