Update on Paintshopblog and new changes

I originally created this blog to archive, share, and help others with Paint Shop Pro during my spare time. However, this site has grown tremendously in popularity in the last few months. I never imagined that this blog would have become this popular. Many visitors have emailed me asking why I do not update this blog more frequently. The reasons I have not updated that often is due time obligations required for the doctorate degree I am working towards, and also work and family obligations.

To satisfy the reader’s desire for new content, and preventing this blog from going stale, I am adding some new sections. I have already added User Submitted Tutorials Section. In the User Submitted Content Section, readers can submit/share links to other Paint Shop Pro Resources and Tutorials they have found on the web. I will also be posting links and descriptions there of tutorials I have enjoyed working through.

Basically the User Submitted section will be a place to find and share information about Paint Shop Pro. News, articles, photos, tutorials, resources, and just about any other type of information our users can find regarding Paint Shop Pro. My idea here is to provide convenient, centralized access to all the great Paint Shop Resources available out there on the web.

Other new features I will be adding soon are forums and Write a tutorial for cash. The forum community will allow our members to seek help, feedback, or just share and discuss things Paint Shop Pro related. BTW, I am going to need a few volunteers to help moderate the forum. If you are interested just let me know in the comment section and I’ll email you.

To generate more content for our users I will also begin paying users for submitted Paint Shop Pro tutorials that are published to the homepage. These tutorials will have to be your own work and excellent quality with a step by step process like I currently use. Everyone will be welcome to submit a tutorial, however, only the highest quality and most unique tutorials will be published. I will post more details when everything is ready to go. As for the payments per tutorial, I estimate the payments will start out around 25-50 dollars per tutorial, depending on the quality.

Finally, I am going to add a request a tutorial section. Users can fill out a form similar to the User Submitted Tutorials form and post their requests for everyone to see. Then I/we can work to have those requests fulfilled. For example, let’s say you or I find a tutorial on the web that is similar to what the user is requesting. We could then upload a link to that particular tutorial in the User Submitted Tutorials section. Once the tutorial request has been filled, I will tag it with FULFILLED or something similar. If there isn’t a tutorial available similar to what someone is requesting, then I will work to fulfill them based on date of submission. It will be very beneficial to me because it will give me topics and ideas for new tutorials.

One more thing, I also promise to allocate more time to Paintshopblog by providing no less than 2 new tutorials per week from here on out, unless something unforeseeable happens. I have four new tutorials coming down the pipe in the next couple days. I have 3 of them completed, just haven’t formatted them yet for the blog. Here they are, how to create a realistic golf ball with logo from scratch, how to create hollywood makeup effects such as scars and burns with paint shop pro, how to create a signature, and retro text effects.

I am happy this site has developed such a nice following, and thanks for the support. If any of you all have any other suggestions for site improvement, or just want to comment on the changes, please feel free to do so.

Thank you,

torQQue

And thank you for these great tutorials, I just purchased PSP X2 Ultimate and find it to be more than great, and really don’t see what Photoshop CS3 can do that PSP can’t, anyway is there a way to give a donation? if so let me know;)

    Wonderful news!
I might be interested in moderating the Forum. I’m an avid “forum freak” and belong to many groups/forums. I’ve never moderated before but would be willing to try.
