Lips and EyeLash brushes for Paint Shop Pro

lips and eyelash brushesI found a beautiful set of free Lips and Lashes brushes over at Devianart for Photoshop. However, the abr (Adobe brush file) was incompatible with all versions of Corel Paint Shop Pro. However, my wife owns a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 and I was able open them up in Photoshop and then export the brush set to a psd file. Furthermore, this then allowed me to open up the brush set in Paint Shop Pro and convert them to pspbrushes.

I have compressed them all into a zip file for your convenience that
you can download here.

Get Lips and Eyelash Brushes for PSP

To install these brushes:
1. Download and Unzip the file.
2. Browse to My Documents > My PSP Files > Brushes
3. Paste the files and/or the folder containing all the files in the brush directory.
4. Restart Paint Shop Pro.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can import them through Paint Shop Pro by going to File > Import > Custom Brush

Enjoy your new Brushes.

UPDATE: If you are having trouble unzipping the files and installing these brushes I have posted an in-depth How to unzip and install brushes tutorial for you to follow. Click here to view the tutorial.

This is great! Thank you so much for taking the time to help us all! I love taking photos of friends and family and playing around with them. This is a major time saver! I used to use a curved airbrush stamp thingy and had to adjust the rotation with each use and add each eyelash individually. OMG it was horrible, but thank you so much for finding this and sharing it with us!

To Charlotte, you just choose the paint brush (B) and go into the tiny box in the toolbar in which you choose which brush you are using.

Guys, you need to import the folder with the brushes into the directory of ‘My PSP Files’ in ‘Brushes’ folder. Open your programme, then they are installed….Go to your brushes, and you will see them.

I hope I explained well, English isn’t my first language.

i am seriously confused. i select the brush as eyelash 4 and i know how to resize and rotate it and everything but then when i come onto the other eye im confused. when u say create a new raster layer it is just loads of checkered squares and i insert the eyelash and mirror it so it goes the other way so thats good. but then when im on the original with the right eye done i dont know how to get the left eye in from the raster layer and if i paste it in then the rotate etc options arent there
pleasee help me before my trial runs out!
    thanks [:

  22. Shane walker on June 13th, 2008 6:13 pm

How do you resize and rotate that eyelashes

  23. torQQue on June 16th, 2008 8:12 pm

You can resize the eyelashes simply by changing the brush size. If you need to rotate them, you can either rotate the brush before applying, or you can press “D” on your keyboard to pull the deform tool after they have been applied. The deform tool will allow you to scale, rotate, etc..

  24. jade on June 18th, 2008 11:30 am

Hey. I just got paintshop 2 days ago. Therefore, i do not know how to put the brushes on paintshop. i just don’t get your directions. =/ it’s my first time. sorry. answer if u can.

  25. torQQue on June 18th, 2008 6:38 pm

    ^ jade

After you download the brushes from the link above, you will then need to unzip them with winzip, winrar or some other compression/zip application. Actually, with XP or Vista all you should have to do is double click on the zip file and pick a location to extract its contents.

Anyway, once you get the file unzipped, you will have a folder named “PSP Lashes and Lips Brushes”

Right click on that folder and press COPY. Next browse to this directory -> My Documents > My PSP Files > Brushes. Once you are inside the BRUSH directory, right click and press PASTE.

Restart Paint shop pro and your brushes will be available to you.

  26. Becky on June 19th, 2008 1:09 am

hey they say for psp but when I download them it opens in photoshop

  27. torQQue on June 19th, 2008 6:47 am

    Becky,

Paste them in your PSP Brush directory and they will work fine. Sounds like Photoshop has set itself as the default program for the extension pspbrush. If you want to correct this double click on your C drive, then go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > FILE TYPES. Now scroll down until you see the pspbrush extension. Click on it and hit change and select paint shop pro as the default program for controlling the pspbrush extension.

Alright i got how and where to put the eye lashes, and i see others have had problems with “unzipping” them. There is No tab or buttom to unzip them. Where i do i look for that option.

  30. Hannah on June 21st, 2008 7:46 am

how do you unzip the folder?

  31. torQQue on June 21st, 2008 7:59 am

    Hannah,

After you download the brushes from the link above, you will then need to unzip them with winzip, winrar or some other compression/zip application. You can download winrar or winzip from download.com. Either application will work.

Actually, with XP or Vista all you should have to do is double click on the zip file, and pick a location to extract its contents.

oh and if you want the lash to be on the other eye, just press ctrl+m so that you can put the brush on the other eye, and then press ctrl+m again to go back. and to import the brushes , first put them in a file/map you want them to be. Then go to psp agian and go to file>import>costum brushes, browse to those brushes you moved in to a map and select them. And then add all and ok, ur done! :)

Ummm, did you get permission to post them? And did you realize the comments right underneath were linked to an image set? And you can use abrviewer.net or gimp, both free, to open abr brushes, as well as many other programs?

Sorry to complain, but as a member of DA it bothers me when people repost without permission, because I wouldn’t want my own stuff reposted.

Hi I downloaded the Eyelashes & Lips, I unzip, put the file in the brushes file, re started Paint Shop Pro X, I do not see the eyelashes or lips in Paint Shop Pro.

I go back to the brush file, click on one of the eye lashes and this message says:

This script is from a new verision of paint shop pro photo or the version can not be determined. You can continue to execute this script but errors may accure or the script may produce unexpected results.

These lashes are great! Thank you so much!!
This is how I use it on photoshop…First I make a new layer, then I pick the color I want with the eyedropper tool. go to brushes and pick the lashes I want to use, adjust the master diameter of the lash brush, go to brush tip shape (under Brush Presets) and adjust the angle as well as roundness to fit the eye perfectly..I used the eraser tool to clean up any parts I don’t like..to do the other eye..just click on Flip X under brush tip shape.

I LIKE YOUR SITE. PLEASE DONT STOP DOING IT BECAUSE PEOPLE ASK SUCH “STUPID” QUESTIONS. I MEAN….IF THEY DONT KNOW ABOUT LAYERS AND ALL OF THAT, THEY SHOULDNT EVEN BE USING BRUSHES. NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT YOU GUYS ARE ASKING A LOT. HE’LL HAVE TO STOP UPDATING THE SITE JUST TO BE YOUR TUTOR.

  78. CANDY on October 24th, 2009 2:45 pm

AND PS….IF THEY WERE ALREADY POSTED ON ANOTHER SIT TO USE….OBVIOUSLY HE CAN POST THEM, ESPECIALLY IF HE LINKED YOU TO THE ORIGINAL SITE. NOT LIKE HE IS CLAIMING THEM AS HIS OWN. GOD PEOPLE…..YOU CAN’T EVEN ALLOW PEOPLE TO HELP YOU WITH OUT BITCHING.

WHEN YOU TURN ON RED, DID YOU KNOW THAT WAS ILLEGAL? GET A CLUE PEOPLE.

  79. CANDY on October 24th, 2009 2:46 pm
